Dental Bridges
What are Dental Bridges?
A dental bridge is a restoration that replaces one or more missing teeth in the mouth. Bridges are designed to mimic both the look and feel of real teeth. They are custom-made to fit each individual’s mouth perfectly. Most fixed bridge work can last for decades without damage or signs of wear.
Why are Dental Bridges needed?
A dental bridge is often needed when a tooth is missing. The bridge will consist of two anchors that are attached to surrounding teeth. The center portion of the bridge, known as the pontic, will simply sit over the gums and replace what’s missing. Bridge work is necessary for improving the appearance of your smile while improving functionality.

Who is a good candidate for Dental Bridges?
Patients who cannot have dental implants successfully placed or who want a simpler, surgery-free treatment can benefit the most from bridges. Bridge work often requires two consecutive appointments. We can examine your teeth to determine if you might need a new bridge. Your bridge is easy to care for and can benefit you in that it fills in your smile and improves your ability to eat and chew.
What happens during the Dental Bridge procedure?
The procedure starts by filing down the surrounding two teeth. Impressions will be taken to make your brand new bridge. The second appointment will involve placing the bridge. We can make a few adjustments to the bridge to ensure it fits comfortably. You will not need to show the bridge any special treatment in order for it to last and look its best. You can expect your new fixed bridge to last for many years before replacement may be needed. If you have an older bridge, the procedure involves removing the old restoration, cleaning the teeth underneath and placing a new bridge. Your smile will look healthy and full thanks to the restorative work that has been done.
